Ways to Participate in Our Ministry

Support the LUMS community with your prayers.
Personally participate in our ministry through the Saturday Meal Program.
Become a Partner in Mission — the LUMS contact person for your home congregation.
Receive the LUMS newsletter by using the email form below - check the, "I want more information, please contact me," or you can send an e-mail to LUMS.
Support LUMS financially through regular giving, memorial gifts or gifts in honour of special milestones (i.e.. birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms). Support the LUMS community with donations of food, clothing, and personal care items.
Send a tax-deductible donation. Receipts are sent out once a year in February. You may send donations directly to LUMS, make donations through United Way's automatic withdrawal program, or online to LUMS through the “Canada Helps” link on this page.

Volunteer

LUMS is an officially recognized charity of United Way. If you are able, please consider giving to us through the United Way, either by a single donation or through monthly routine salary deductions.

Dear Friends

“God’s Mission Has a Church!” What an interesting turn of phrase. We have taken this phrase from the Anglican Diocese’s financial stewardship focus. We believe that God is at work in the world wherever human rights are furthered and social and environmental justice is advanced.

LUMS faces a future filled with challenges and opportunities for service in God’s mission in the world. There can be no greater privilege in life than to be part of God’s work. We seek to respond to God’s call to mission and service especially on our downtown eastside of Vancouver.

*With our own premises, expenses such as rent, hydro and other related expenditures along with the continued work of LUMS on the Downtown Eastside, we require your continued financial contribution, so your assistance is crucial. Your financial support and participation through our hot meal program will always be needed to further the work that LUMS has done for over 15 years.

Without your continued support LUMS would not survive or flourish. God’s work requires your financial support. To grow and become even more effective in our work is a challenge, but there is nothing more important than to be engaged in God’s work. You have an important part to play!
